hello hippies I have a small dilemma here: I love practicing with a brush and ink. Im far from being perfect. A marker is much easier in some ways, though even with that I need practice. (but I love to practice!-practice makes pervert) Has any of you mastered the 2 tools and can tell me about the different doors they open? What would be the difference in looks between a master hand doing one draw in marker and the same with a brush? thanks a lot! Mon

If you like a flat deadline style like Gil Kane, then use markers. They can be used to shape lines by scribbling back and forth, but for me its a wasted effort. I will use markers typically only for convention sketches where I dont have easy access to crow quills or a technical pen. If you are looking to quickly get results on the smaller press levels then use markers & then develop your quill skills. Brush is by far the slowest learning curve, but if you master brush skills then everything else is super easy.
