One of the main issues in inking in recent times was that some publishers weren't following the traditional practice of listing the ink artists on the covers of reprint collections alongside the writer and penciler names (it not only looks but also FEELS so wrong to see a reprint of "The Death of Phoenix" with credits for Claremont & Byrne only and no Terry Austin) or aren't credited for inking the cover art. I have many trades that only say "Front cover art: Gil Kane/ John Buscema/ Jack Kirby, etc." even though an inker worked on it. Lately, in Previews, I've noticed that some collections seem to recently list the inkers and some new acquisitions listed the cover INKERS as well!
DC tends to be traditional and other publishers have different policies. Marvel used to be traditional but not in the last few years. So let's do a survey: Can anyone please post here if they bought or checked out a recent Marvel HC or trade paperback and see if the inkers were credited on the covers for the interior series reprinted and/or the cover inks. If so then let me know and I'll compare it with last years volumes.
If a policy has changed for the better this is a terrific thing and one major step in recognising inker contributions as they had been in previous times....I just want to see if there's any consistency or if what I've seen are simply flukes.
Cheers
Daniel

Kudos to someone!! I was surprised to see in the recent Marvel August solicitations that while the credits only mention the writer and penciler, the solits description include Tom Palmer and Mark Farmer as the inkers for Hulk # 13 and # 14, respectively. I don't know who writes up these items but it put a smile on my face:-)
