Hey guys,
This is probably just a post aimed at other amatuer inkers (i.e non pro - I mean nothing else by this! lol), but does anyone else struggle to find pro sequential pages of a sufficient resolution to ink for 'folio samples? I know that there are some page packs floating around on Top Cow etc, but requests to Marvel and DC go unanswered (I know the submissions teams are really busy so I'm not suprised) and I feel awkward about emailling artists directly as I know they're super busy too (and the few that I've met at cons and then followed up on a few weeks later haven't responded either).
Anyhow - I guess I'm asking, does anyone know somewhere to get hi-res scans of contemporary comic pencils to practice on? We've got some in the Artists Alley, but the collection seems to have plateaued. Any suggestions? :-)

Hey! You can visit my Deviant Art page: julienhb.deviantart.com/I've uploaded all the pencilled pages I inked (complete issue of Daredevil by Joe Q, BWS, Yu). You can visit John Byrne's website for complete pencilled issues. Of course it may not be exactly what you call contemporary comic pencils but there are some Superman pages he did a few years ago which are great, too! Kwanchang.com has many many many pages by Leinil YU... But I'm sure you can find all you want on Deviant Art just by swinging from inkers to pencillers.

Hey Tom, check out comicartcommunity.comclick on the "GALLERY" box, and it brings up a HUGE list of artists that all have stuff in there, usually uploaded by fans and collectors. I've managed to pull about 70+ pages, covers and pin-ups to ink, have Bluelined them all, and ahve them burned to a CD. I could actually upload some to you if you'd like. Feel free to e-mail me at Splotched_ink@yahoo.com, or jsut check out the website and grab the ones you want. Jsut be sure to click on the picture before you save it from the site.
