I don't know if this'll work (and this isn't exactly a 'general topic' but there wasn't a more appropriate forum), but some message boards have a spot where new members can introduce themselves. Maybe it's a little late but anyone feel willing to break the ice and tell us your name, whether your an inker (pro or learning) or not, and , if the former, what you're working on now and how long you've been at it with a brief credits list. Inkwellers assemble! Bob Almond www.inkwellawards.comwww.almondink.com

I'm yer huckleberry.... I'm Daniel - or Danny to my close pals. I'm one of the guys who works with Bob on the Inkwell committee. Why me? I've asked that more than once ya know...but I do know that I adore Bob - he's a d**n good guy and if anyone wants to argue against that then they can pick a fight with me as well. Anyways, regressing back to my childhood...I failed finger painting in primary school and never looked back. I decided to write instead. I wanted to be a d**n good writer, I'm still working on that side of things. I tend to think I'm moderately good. Thus far I've spent the better part of my life writing about all kinds of things. In 1993 I left the electronic media here in Adelaide to forge a career in print. I wish I'd known better. I became exclusive to an international music magazine for the better part of a decade until they went bust owing me a considerable amount of money - none of which I'll ever see. I then started up my own web-site and went from there. I've written for a number of magazines about all kinds of pop culture - music, movies, books, autographs, comic books, art - you name it, I've probably written about it. I've had one book published - about Ross Andru & Mike Esposito. Continuing my pattern of luck I've never been paid for it, and indeed the publisher has done his best to bad mouth me and threaten anyone who dares to defend me, both legally and physically. I wrote the official biography of Jim Mooney - three publishers have expressed interest, two contracts signed and all three have never published it. Good book though with loads of cool art. I've also written the official biography of Norm Breyfogle - stunning book, however the publisher went bust owing me a pile of cash for both that and a creator owned project that I'd done with Alan Weiss. In a twist to my usual 'Getting screwed by publishers' theme this publisher not only refused to pay me but they also ordered me to pay Alan for the work he'd done. Unfortunately for the publisher Weiss was more than smart enough to realise what'd gone down and is in the process of attempting to get paid for his work and to see me paid as well. It won't happen, God love Alan Weiss. I'd kill kittens for that guy and smile doing it. So there it is. My blog ohdannyboy.blogspot.com is hated by some, loathed by others. I rise up and expose the more darker side of the comic book history (have a read one day) and I'll continue to fight for the rights of all and sundry. So if you have a story that needs to be written then let me know and we'll work on it. I keep all the names to me. If you want to see what I do for a day job then message me and I'll send that link as well. I also maintain the official web-sites for Alan Kupperberg, Dave Simons and Brian Postman - links at the bottom. Unlike some people who chase artists for sites, I don't get paid for this, I don't want to get paid but ever so often I get a nice little piece of art in return - just for disclosure's sake. If you want on-line exposure and think you can't afford it, let me know. And if you have a book you don't want published, hey - attach my name to it as a writer!

Finally found my way back. Sorry so slow. You are a wonderful group of folk. I am Ed Eargle. I am one of those wannabe inkers. I've inked a few small things but nothing major...yet. Maybe someday. I've met a couple of you guys and corresponded with a few more of you. Still in a weird transition - living-wise - so I've been without my scanner and computer for a while now. When I get situated, I hope to get back to posting more stuff for tips and crits. Until then - I lurk! ;D

OK, I'll go. My name is Bob Shaw and I have been an artist representative for the past 4 years. I also hold a day job where I'm an Inventory Control Specialist (really it's just a fancy schmancy way of saying scapegoat). In addition, I'm also a carpenter who maintains several apartment building for clients.
I am married to Kim (who thankfully puts up with my art collecting habit) and between us we have 7 children. Needless to say, life is BUSY. I wouldn't have it any other way.
For the Inkwells, I run the Ebay auctions (we're always willing to accept donated items...HINT) and moderate this fine forum.
You can check out the sites I run by hitting the links in this post.

Here goes:
I'm Jerry Livengood and I am an art collector and wanna-be inker.
I started collecting comics 25 years ago and been addicted ever since. I started collecting sketches and original art back in 2000, when Mark Texeira was at a Portland Con. He was pretty surprised by the amount of books I had for him to sign and even a Bowen Black Panther bust that was based on his work. When he asked me if I wanted a commission, I was surprised, I didn't know they did that at shows. How on earth did I go that long without knowing that? Well, I've been hooked ever since, as some of you know.
Some of you already know who I am, others may know me as the "Spider-Wing" guy, a collection of Spider-Man and Nightwing pieces over on Comic Art Fans. You'll find the inks of Bob Almond and Jimmy Tournas over there, and hopefully soon Mark McKenna, who I've gotten to know a little.
I'm also a wanna-be inker. I have a lot of the tools of the trade, but unfortunately not much of the patience. Though, after being recently laid off, I should spend some time getting back into it. Maybe being around a bunch of guys who do it for a living will light a fire under me.
Overall, everyone who I've met in this organization has been great and I will continue to help in any way I can. I want to thank Damon Owens for introducing me to Bob Almond, which led me to meeting many others.
Thanks and I'll see you around!

Hell everyone! My name is Julien and I'm a French learning inker. I used to publish comic books in France (pencis + inks) but I have to admit I'm not such a good penciller and what I loved was to ink - so I decided to let other people struggle with anatomy and focus on inking! So I spend all my days inking pages from professional penciller hoping one day publishers will be interested in what I do. So far, I've inked: Solar by Barry Windsor-Smith (6 unpublished pages) Daredevil #7 by Joe Quesada (22 pages + cover) Secret Invasion #2 by Leinil Yu (10 pages and more to come) Unholy Union by Michel Broussard (2 pages and more to come) Well... Among other things... Like many of you people here, I'm lookng for tips, improvements an who knows... If someone sees this forum and thinks I'm good enough to have my name on a book, that would be a dream come true!
