Hey guys, so I decided to be more active on the boards here and to start off I inked my first page ever that is 100% brush. I'm normally a crow quill guy so it was an experiment and I know it's rough in a lot of places, but feel free to let me know what is and isn't working here. Thanks. I only used a Windsor Newton series 7 #3. Pencils by Ryan Benjamin and high rez bluelines can be found here: ryanbnjmn.deviantart.com/art/WolverineSketch-139416283Thanks for looking and here's my deviant site if anyone wants to check my other stuff. antalas.deviantart.com/

So after looking at the pencils again I felt compelled to go back and ink Ryan's wolvie with my trusty nib. It makes for an interesting contrast on how the same page can come out different based on the tools used.

THat first one is very Dan Green. Take that for whatever you like. The second looks more appropriate to the pencils. Your cross hatching patterns in quill are a bit furry. your angles are too flat to eachother. also stop lines on eother lines. if they just end wherever they end it creates an uneven effect that is an immediate turn off. Really good execution overall. I'm just busting you because you inked it 2x, so you had an opportunity for a mistake free second pass. Also, Welcome to the boards Jeremy. Its good to see a new face here.

Thanks Jay. I actually thought the same thing on the first piece. I'm definitely going to be practicing more with my brushes and work towards using them more. You right about my crosshatching here. I was impatient and should of taken more time and not rushed the background.
Thanks for the welcome. I'll talk to you later.
