Howdy all. figured I'd throw my inks into the ring here with all you other fine inkers. Many of whom I know pretty well from everywhere else. Hey Jimmy. Ok, on to the Inks. Batman by Tony Daniel. Kiani by Micah Gunnell Shrugged by Micah Gunnell I've got more, but don't want to overload the thread jsut yet. Not like anyone actually pays much attention anyway.

Good stuff! I like the way you tackled the hair in the last one. I would have liked to see a little texture in the trees in the first Shrugged page, as they just look a little too smooth. I'd like to see some beefier contours too, but that's personal preference. I really dig the rock texture on the Batman one too More!

will do Jay. If I can actually remmeber the next time I see him. Jimmy and John, thanks guys. Micah's pencils are actually really really tight, so it's hard to kind of take things off to a different direction and add things in here and there. the hair was really rough. I was actually working on these pages the Week prior to Wizard World LA earlier this year, and struggled with her hair because to get it "Just Right" I had to outline everysingle strand and keep in mind when I went back to spot blacks...which ones were actually getting blackened, and which ones were not. Hand cramped out by that point. After all was said and done, the first page was the last page I had to spot blacks on. As always, I'll get more stuff up soon. If you dont want to wait that long, you can check out the other stuff I have going on at splotchy77.deviantart.com. Always posting stuff up there before I post it anywhere else.

Latest piece I managed to get done. A page done to death by everyone else, so why wouldn't I flog the dead horse myself. you all know where it's from, and we all know who penciled it....Francis "the Man" Manapul. Pencils and Inks together in one. Working on the next page right now. Should have it done and up by the end of the weekend.

It's a bummer that I just found this thread, but better late than never I guess.
It makes me a bit embarrased to post my inks up here with everyone else's, I really love that Daniel Batman piece.

thanks man. And don't worry, keep at it, and you'll be better than me in no time. It's taken me just 10 years to get here. And that's something I'm embarassed about.

3 New pieces to Inundate you all with. A Batman page I snagged from Todd Nauck's gallery at comicartcommunity.com. I have the page that follows to do next, cool page with the Joker and the Batmobile. Another Batman page, this one I think was from a Superman Batman issue, but not sure who the penciler is. Could be Ivan Reis, or someone else...don't know. Spidey here from Ultimate #115 by Stuart Immonen. Gonna go back in and touch some things up with this one, but wanted to post it here in the meantime.

5 New pages for ya'll to gawk at. Man oh Man what a month it's been. So earlier this Month my boss goes on vacation for 2 weeks, leaving me plenty of time to sit down and really knock my samples out. A few minor set backs here and there during that time kept me from getting more pages done as I would ahve liked, but I think once you see these 5, you'll think like me that it was all worth it. Enjoy Batman samples 1and 4 by Tom Derenick Teen Titans by Jamal Igle Teen Titans by Todd Nauck Kiani sample page by Joel Gomez Iron and the Maiden cover by Francis Manapul

Hey Billy, At this point you've mastered the art inking exactly whats there. I can't see anything to comment on as its inked perfectly well. I think its time to focus on Improving the pencils. Do some stuff that makes you uncomfortable. Make lines thicker than they are in the pencils, or turn 5 tick lines into 10. Push the envelope a bit. The pieces with Jamal & Todd are the 2 weakest. They come across flat & soft. Thats why its time to punch it up a bit. You've come a long way, & are actually better than a few pro's working. Good luck in SD this year. J

And yet, another new page I just finished the other day. Took a bit longer than I expected, but you'll see why when you look at it. Probably one of my favorite pieces to date. From "Madame Mirage" #2. Pencils by the almighty Kenneth Rocafort, who's probably one of the nicest guys in the biz today. He was kind enough to e-mail this page to me, and if I'm lucky I can probably snagg some os his Punisher/Wolverine pages at a later date. Now, onto the second Cyblade cover by Kenneth. Enjoy guys
