When Bob Shaw set up our MySpace page he asked me what song(s) I knew that had something in the title or lyrics about inking but we both came up with nothin'. Anyone else? Bob Almond www.inkwellawards.comwww.almondink.com

You could always do the soundtrack to Chasing Amy. How many movies feature an inker being able to beat up an ignorant fanboy who calls him a tracer?

Hmmm...me personally, as much as I enjoyed that film, I felt that it left a black-eye on our craft to the general public who now, jokingly or not, refer to us a tracers. Sure, they're ignorant, but I'd rather not use a reference that caused disrespect to the craft. Maybe one day, though, if the Inkwell Awards get bigger, I could ask Kevin Smith if he'd be willing to lend his name on the committee in support of us. That would go a long way to making up for what I'm sure was his unintentional and inadvertent slight;-) Thanks for the idea anyway, Jerry! Bob Almond www.inkwellawards.comwww.almondink.com

Okay, so I went back and watched the scene, and can see how it can go both ways. This came out right after I graduated and I still had the idea that I could be an inker, so when I saw this, Scott Mosier's character pissed me off and I was very happy that Jason Lee explained, albeit briefly, that it was more complicated than tracing. However, I'm not in the business and haven't had a bunch of people come up to me at conventions, so I'm sure you felt the "black-eye" much more. I remember somewhere that Kevin was asked about this, since he was writing comics now, if that's what he thought and he said (maybe spinning) that he was defending inking, not slighting it. But, I guess things don't always come across as we intend. I'll keep an eye out though for other songs
