Greeting Inkwellers!
I presume that many of you discovered us here through our main site at http:www.inkwellawards.com so I wanted to give you a formal introduction (and if you happen to simply stumble onto us, you can surely stay...but you may want to click the above link and catch up on what we're all about...don't worry, we'll wait here for you).
I don't want to get long-winded here but I wanted to welcome aboard all of you who've joined our community here and support the Inkwell Awards. To give credit where it's due, this was one of the brainstorms of Jimmy Tournas and Bob Shaw and the initial work and setting up by Danny Best and I'm am truly grateful of their time and effort and we all look forward to adding to our ink-adoring family. These boards will soon be moderated in general by two respected comic art collectors and long-time friends of mine (and each other), Michael Rankins and Damon Owens. They certainly respect and appreciate what inking professionals contribute to the industry and to the quality of sequential art products we all love. They'll be sure to post intros about themselves later once they jump aboard. In the meantime, Bob Shaw will be moderating in general (with Jimmy in artists alley) and the bunch of us on the committee will be lurking around to read comments, post responses, and pounce on fires. So, as long as you adhere to Daniel Best's FAQ list, you'll be fine and dandy. And keep a lookout...maybe you'll also catch Tim Townsend, Mark McKenna, Dan Panosian, or other committee members and contributers in our midst. And if your one of our 'friends of the inkwell', feel free to stand up and make yourself known to the rest.
So whether you're a fellow inker, a fellow creator (retailer, editor, penciler, colorist, etc.), a fan and/or collector of comic art and comics, or simply the general public wanting to learn more about our oft-misunderstood craft, feel free to add to the discussion, ask questions or share some ideas...we all can learn and grow from this as a group and as an awards organization. We welcome you all aboard on what will hopefully be a long journey full of passion and dedication.
Bob Almond (Inkwell Awards proud dada)
