I have a question about nibs. I can get hunt nibs, no problem, been using 102 for ever. I also use a G pen nibs when I want to get a little rough on a page. But I keep hearing about Gillots, and I'm wondering about them. Are they still available? Which are the best to use in our industry and where are they available (if in fact they are)?

The Gillot nib I remember hearing about and subsequently trying was the 404 - I managed to find one in a drawing nibs pack here in the UK a while ago, though it's been a while. I'll dig one out and give it another go and give some comparison against the 102 (my mainstay nib) if ya like?

We have a store in Paris called "le comptoir des écritures". You can find there almost all existing nibs... I was told it was one of the most important nib store in Europe. They sell via Internet, too. Here is the link: www.thegreatcalligraphycatalog.com/acatalog/shop.htmlHunt and Gillott nibs are availbale there.

Gillotte 659 is the best by far. THey suck pretty bad now tho as they changed thier manufacturing process in the mid 90's. On ebay the first few years it was up guys would pay 5-10$ a piece for vintage ones.
