Hello all
Sorry it'sbeen awhile for me, but life has a way of catching you in its currents.
While plugging away at the art table, I am consistently running into the same problem.
I grab the pencil scans to practice and I can't get the image inside of the borders of the blue line paper. I am either too small on the image or I am too big and the image goes outside of the borders(This is the border on the paper to mark the 10x15 area, not panel borders)
Using Photshop 7 and a large format printer rated for art board. I am not the best when it comes to PS7 so any help would be greatly appreciated.

Another question:
Could anyone recommend any good "how to" books for PS7...I have used the Photoshop Bible in the past with mixed results. Most of the boks and resources I have found are geared solely or mostly toward photography...no surprise as this is the intended use for the product. I am looking for help with a slant toward graphic arts.
Thanks again
B

Hey Brian - I've been racking my brains about your first PS question (printing alignment) and have a couple of ideas: 1. The simplest solution (although probably not the most useful) is if the page is already measured out, why not just print on the back of the board? Or, add the page markings in Photoshop with a template or scan of a clean board and then print on the back? 2. I know you can do this is the later versions of photohsop, but in the print menu, you can untick the options to centre and 100% size your image - with these options released you can resize and adjust where the image will print on the page. This may require a little bit of trial and error, but once you've got it alligned you'll just need the same settings each time you print! As for getting up to speed with PS, there's a great DVD by Gnomon in 2 discs covering the entire functionality range of Photoshop (albeit Creative Suite versions but not THAT much has changed.._) as well as work flow hints and tips - I found this INVALUABLE! Books wise, I've only ever really had a look at comic book colouring books, which haven't been great - the majority of photoshop stuff I've learned I've picked up from instructional DVDs (usually Gnomon) on digital painting, and a magazine we get in the UK called Imagine FX which is awesome for digital illustration/arts. Hope this helps mate, let me know if there's anything else!

Tom
Thanks for the help!!
I'll try out some test scans and prints on some practice boards I have.
I'll also check out the DVDs.
Thanks again!
