At the Inkwell Awards mother site we'll be creating a page of sample inks, before pencils and after inks files, as examples of what ink artists bring to the table in order to inform the public as there were suggestions months ago to make the site more visual. We are looking for examples by the masters but any examples would be considered if the inks are good and show an obvious contribution or enhancement to the pencil art shown (let's show Joe Public why 'tracing' is evidently a misnomer). Pencils to inks and breakdowns to finishes are both good, especially the latter that spotlights what the inker brings to the mix. If we use the samples that you retrieve from online (in galleries, blogs, CAF, sites, etc.) we will credit you. But please ask the owner/inker if it's ok to post these here for our charity and we'll gladly thank them as well on the page. Low-res files are fine and preferable to deal with. You can post them here with the info of where they're from (title published). We have already collected a few samples but would consider adding others as we compose the page in the coming weeks and/or down the road as it'll be a work in progress. Thanks! ~B~

Here is a piece that I inked from a artist that works for Bluewater Comics...I used Winsor Newton series 7 sz 3 and Speedball ink, it is not published anywhere as of yet although I am getting some prints made of the final colors http://comicbookinker1971.deviantart.com/art/TMNT-Colors-by-Jeff-Balke-153944799 with the blessing of the artist M. Scott Woodward.
Here is the step - by - step process I did -> http://fav.me/d2jnnoh, the image can be extracted from this link.

Bob, is there any particular type of artwork you'd like to see inked to fill out the samples area?

Hi Jeff,
Anything good that clearly shows the contribution of the ink artist is great, as long as it's not material from 2010 so as to not influence the nom committee for the 2011 awards. You'll notice that we posted examples with finishes from breakdowns/sketches as they best are understood by the general public who may not notice the nuances in comparison on tighter pencils. You can submit low-res files of the before and after and we ul;timately decide what really showcases and educates about the craft. Feel free to email me at bob@almondink.com if you want to talk further. Thanks! ~B~
